Featured Artist: Mary Wohl Haan & HAAN Dances

Mary Wohl Haan of HAAN Dances is a staple in the Boulder arts scene. A teacher, choreographer, and performer, Haan is also a fierce advocate for and supporter of the arts in Boulder, and serves as Coordinator of the Boulder Arts Commission's Dance Bridge, a resource and networking project for dance and the Boulder community.

Describe your work in 10 words or less:

Dramatic, lyrical, roughly hewn, soulfully sensual –and sometimes damn funny!

Tell us about one of your favorite encounters with art in Boulder:

Bebe Miller Dance Company was in town years ago doing a small showing at CU and I still remember a moment in one of the dances where they gently touch arms - it was like I could feel the touch myself.

If you could collaborate with any artist in Boulder, who would it be and why?

Any one of the fabulous teachers and artists who have come out of Naropa & CU and are here in town producing work.

What will you be doing for Boulder Arts Week?
