Featured Artist: Sharon Glassman & The Lazy Person's Book Club

Sharon Glassman knows you're busy. With everything you have going on, who has time to read, right? Let's face it: reading really interferes with napping and eating. That's why she started The Lazy Person's Book Club, a monthly event that allows an audience to sit back, relax, and let someone else do the reading.

Describe your work in 10 words or less:

Funny, smart stories & songs with heart.

Tell us about one of your favorite encounters with art in Boulder:

Stumbling across The Motet play at the Boulder bandshell with Rockin' Robin hosting on a summer afternoon. I had recently moved to town, wandered over and had my mind blown in a good way: blue sky, great band, tons of folks dancing, sunshine and a library just across the street!

If you could collaborate with any artist in Boulder, who would it be and why?

Junior Burke. I was introduced to Junior Burke's songs by Andy at Albums on the Hill and am in love with his songwriting and commitment to performance and storytelling.

What will you be doing for Boulder Arts Week?

Performing a live episode and songs from my comic-novel-with-songs Blame It On Hoboken with special guests Emily K. Harrison and jazz guitarist/vocalist Laurie Dameron at Shine at 3pm on Sunday, April 6th. The event is called The Lazy Person's Book Club

Then what?

I'll be performing Blame It On Hoboken songs & Lazy Person's Book Club shows at FocoMX (April 26th), Still Cellars Distillery & Arthouse in Longmont (May-Aug) and releasing an EP of Blame It On Hoboken songs to folk radio stations nationwide.
