Featured Artist: The Boulder Tattoo Project & Locheart Arts

The Boulder Tattoo Project, which has connected more than 200 people in Boulder and features poetry by Anne Waldman and tattoo art designed by Vincent Bachert of Claw and Talon Tattoo, will premiere a short documentary about the project during Boulder Arts Week. We asked Project Manager Chelsea Locheart of Locheart Arts to give us the skinny.

Describe your work in 10 words or less:

A community connected through a love poem to Boulder.

Tell us about one of your favorite encounters with art in Boulder:

During a community art show in a warehouse in North Boulder, I had a few pieces of art hanging and Robert Venosa stopped by and talked with me about my art.  That was a very rewarding moment.

If you could collaborate with any artist in Boulder, who would it be and why?

They don’t know it yet, but I have plans to collaborate with Android Jones, the Boulder Ballet, and the Boulder Symphony.

What will you be doing for Boulder Arts Week?

Locheart Arts will be showing the premiere of the final film of the Boulder Tattoo Project on April 2, from 7:30-9:30pm as part of a fundraiser of Boulder Arts Week 2015 at the Boulder Theater

Then what?

I am expanding my children’s art program, Little Locheart Arts, and aim to launch Children’s Art Month in the Spring of 2015.
